Many of you ask what these options are in the DCS WebGui, some of them change how DCS performs so on a Fox3 Server here is what you need to know.
The Advanced Options here pictured here:
The top portion where it has show messages in chat are for notifications while flying in the DCS chat. Kill, Takeoff/Landing, Crashes, Ejecting, and Role are your choices and are really your choice for how many messages you want.
The options below the chat messages are important for performance
Allow Object Export has to do with the what is presented and available in Tacview, if you look at the Tacview ACMI files, you will want this checked.
The next options Allow Sensor Export is also for Tacview ACMI files but this options causes a load on the DCS_Server.exe and is NOT recommended.
Allow Player Export is usually checked and required.
Allow Trial Clients is up to you, this means if someone is using a trial client of DCS they will be able to connect to your server or not.
Allow To Change Skins - you preference, if a player can change their own skin.
Allow to Change Tail Number - again your preference. If checked a player can change their own tail numbers. I personally fly with 777 as mine.
Allow To Take Screenshots on Clients, again your preference has little impact on the server.
The next section is important!
Voice Chat should be left off unless you are a Co-Op Tier or Value Tier customer. The voice chat is disabled on all other servers by default, SRS works better and we block the port for DCS Voice on the rest of our servers. So keep it unchecked.
Allow Extra Radio, you can check then uncheck voice. but it's a preference for you.
Allow Player Pool, this is the score keeper that keeps track of score of each plater, I like it on, but it's a preference for you.
Resume modes! This is important, we by default force the servers to be Resume With Clients, this cuts down on servers crashing when no one is even on them. However, we can override this setting on request. But if your server crashes a lot, we may change it back.
Max Ping, leave this at 0 to allow all, but if you want to disallow someone from far away or with a crappy internet connection from lagging on your server set it to 300 or so. It's in milliseconds.
Red and Blue passwords are self explanatory, I have never seen anyone use this feature.
Hope this helps and Happy Flying from Fox3!
