If you are the kind of DCS pilot who likes a mission to start with a plan instead of a prayer, this one is for you.
Fox3 is happy to announce support for DKS for DCS, also known as Digital Kneeboard Simulator, on Fox3 servers. We have built the supporting system needed to allow Fox3 customers to use DKS with their servers, including a small service required for the mod interface to work properly with the Fox3 environment. The result is a smoother way for squadrons and mission groups to bring serious planning tools into their server workflow without having to build it all themselves.
For those not familiar, Digital Kneeboard Simulator (DKS) is a free, web based mission card builder currently in late beta. It is designed to improve both the planning and execution phases of DCS missions. Flight leads can generate per pilot mission cards, manage waypoints, calculate flight timings, build comm plans, prepare loadouts, and export directly into DCS friendly formats. In other words, it helps turn mission prep from a scattered mess of notes and screenshots into something far more organized and useful.
DKS includes a strong set of features that will appeal to organized squadrons and mission focused groups. Pilots can build waypoint plans with timings, speeds, and automatic ETE and ToT calculations. Mission planners can include loadouts, comm ladders, and known red force assets such as SAMs, ground units, and overlays. It can also import from existing MIZ files, including drawings, support assets, theater data, and other mission elements. Multi flight package planning is supported as well, along with squadron level defaults, member specific overrides, and preset configurations. That means less repeated work and more consistency across your missions.
Fox3 customers using DKS can also benefit from integrations that add even more value to the experience. These include Tacview and ACMI debriefing with 3D replay, sortie analysis, kill attribution, and career stats, along with a real time 3D view of server objects and an easy to use GCI interface for real time control. That opens the door to better mission review, stronger coordination, and a more immersive overall experience for organized groups.
DKS currently supports a strong lineup of aircraft including the A-10C, AV-8B, AH-64D, OH-58D, F-14B, F-15E, F-16C, F/A-18C, and C-130J. Export options include PNG kneeboard sets, DCS-DTC profiles, TheWay Lua waypoint files, and Loadout Lua for DCS mission scripting. Generated mission card packages can include primary mission cards, comm cards, route cards, and range cards, all organized for use by individual pilots.
Support for DKS is now available on the Fox3 website under DCS Mods. If your squadron wants better planning, cleaner mission prep, and a more professional way to brief and fly, this is worth a serious look. DKS itself is available at digitalkneeboardsimulator.com, and bug reports or feature requests can be submitted through the project’s Discord bug forum.
At Fox3, we love bringing useful tools into the hands of DCS pilots, especially the ones that make missions more immersive, more organized, and more fun to fly. DKS does exactly that, and we are excited to make it available to our customers.
