Keep every pilot visually in sync—automatically.
Fox3 servers now support Livery Link, a livery manager that auto-shares missing skins with players in your session. Pilots just run the client when they connect. The server tracks who has what and helps distribute the rest so everyone sees the right paint on the right jet. Say goodbye to “default gray” surprises!
Why This Matters
Zero Manual Hunting: No more links, zip files, or “what pack do I need?” DMs.
Consistent Visuals: Screenshots, streams, and debriefs look correct for everyone.
Faster Onboarding: New pilots can show up and fly; liveries follow automatically.
What is Livery Link?
Livery Link is a lightweight application that runs on each player’s PC. When you connect to a Fox3 server with Livery Link enabled, the server keeps a manifest of installed liveries for all connected players. If you’re missing a skin used in the mission, the network securely fetches it from peers who already have it. No central repository is required.
How It Works (30-Second Version)
Player Connects: A player connects to a Fox3 server and runs the Livery Link client.
Server Checks: The server checks which liveries the player has or doesn’t have.
P2P Sync Starts: The client downloads only the missing liveries from peers.
End of Mission: Everyone has the same livery set used during the sortie.

Quick Start
For Players (Pilots)
Install & Run: Download and run the Livery Link client before launching DCS. Get it here.
Join a Fox3 Server: Connect to a Fox3 server that has Livery Link enabled.
Fly Normally: If you’re missing skins, the client will fetch them in the background.
Keep the Client Running: Maintain the client until you disconnect so it can finish any syncs.
Tip: The first join may take a few extra minutes if you’re missing a lot of skins; after that, it’s incremental.
For Server Admins (Fox3 Managed)
Requirements
Players: A Windows PC running DCS, with the Livery Link client open when you connect.
Servers: A Fox3 DCS Server with Livery Link support toggled on (we’ll handle it).
FAQ
Do I still need to manually install liveries?
No. If the livery exists among players in your session, it will sync automatically. However, you can still add them manually if you want.
Is this safe?
Yes. Only livery files are exchanged. Transfers are verified before they’re placed in your Saved Games\DCS…\Liveries paths.
What if a livery can’t be found among peers?
You’ll see the fallback skin (as usual). If you’ve got a must-have skin, share it once. After that, the network keeps it circulating.
Will this hurt my ping?
Downloads are rate-limited and prefer idle bandwidth. You can keep flying while files sync.
Do I need to keep the client open after I connect?
Yes, keep Livery Link running for the duration of the flight so missing skins complete and you can seed to others.
The Benefits of Livery Link
Enhanced Visual Experience
The visual experience is crucial for immersion in DCS. With Livery Link, you can enjoy a seamless experience where everyone in your session sees the same liveries. This consistency enhances the overall aesthetic of your missions, making them more enjoyable.
Community Engagement
Livery Link fosters a sense of community among pilots. By sharing liveries automatically, you’re not just enhancing your experience; you’re contributing to the collective enjoyment of the game. This collaborative spirit is what makes DCS special.
Time-Saving Convenience
Imagine jumping into a mission without worrying about whether you have the right skins. Livery Link saves you time by automating the process. You can focus on flying and strategy rather than hunting down files.
Future-Proofing Your Experience
As DCS evolves, so will the liveries. Livery Link ensures that you’re always up-to-date with the latest skins. You won’t have to worry about missing out on new designs or updates.
