Attention Fox3 Customers Using Pretense Missions:
We want to bring to your attention some critical issues regarding the Pretense missions on our DCS servers. Unfortunately, these missions have not been updated for at least the last four DCS server patches. As a result, they have become increasingly unstable, leading to frequent crashes—between 6 to 10 times an hour.
Each time a server crashes, our system triggers an alert, and immediately reboot the affected server. However, the sheer frequency of these crashes is overwhelming our alert system, making it difficult to identify and respond to genuine issues in a timely manner.
The GitHub page for Pretense missions has issued a notice stating that the mission is no longer maintained, and the original author has abandoned it. In light of this, Fox3 has made the difficult decision to cease support for Pretense missions on our servers. We will be actively removing these missions whenever we detect them.
Unless someone has a modified version that is stable and works reliably, it is not feasible to continue running Pretense missions.
We understand that Pretense was a fantastic mission, and many of you enjoyed it. However, there are plenty of great alternatives available. We encourage you to explore other missions, ensuring they are actively supported and have been updated to accommodate the latest DCS patches over the past six months.
We appreciate your support and understanding. Managing server stability is challenging enough, and it becomes even more difficult when missions crash frequently—even when no one is logged in.
If anyone does have a working, modified version of Pretense that we can verify running successfully on a server, we are open to reconsidering our stance and allowing it back into rotation.
